Risk Insights (RI), Africa’s leading ESG data and ratings provider, and Botho University (BU), a premier higher education institution headquartered in Botswana with campuses in Lesotho, Eswatini and Namibia, have joined forces to collaborate on developing and implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) educational programs. This collaboration enhances ESG education and research in Botswana and across Africa, equipping students, professionals, and market participants with critical sustainability knowledge.
RI and BU will offer public lectures, guest lectures, and access to ESG data for academic research. The partnership will also ensure access for BU to top notch ESG focused materials, including the ESG Matters podcast and webinars, to support academic and public engagement initiatives.
As part of their commitment to fostering ESG literacy, the institutions will collaborate on developing an undergraduate sustainability curriculum for finance and business students, ensuring that the next generation of professionals is well-versed in sustainable business practices. Additionally, RI and BU will engage in joint research projects and grant proposal writing to advance ESG thought leadership on the continent.
“Education is the foundation of sustainable development.
