ESG reporting is gaining momentum in Kenya and East Africa as investor interest and activism rises globally. ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) issues are of increasing concern, over and above financial returns delivered by companies.

Risk Insight (RI) is delighted to announce the partnership with GreenCo ESG Consultants (GEC), an emerging ESG Advisory firm in Kenya. GEC will leverage Risk Insights’ AI-powered ESG GPS™ rating platform and a suite of products and A-Cubed to provide access to ESG ratings, ESG disclosure information, ESG news and strategic business intelligence to the NSE listed companies and unlisted companies in Kenya. This cooperation will support NSE’s strategy of driving sustainability and ESG movement in Kenya.

GreenCo ESG Consultants (GEC) will provide strategic business intelligence and ESG advisory to NSE listed companies, to improve their sustainability reporting across their ESG pillars. This ESG initiative will go a long way in creating awareness in the market and improve ESG reporting in Kenya.

GEC’s CEO Irene Keino, stated that this partnership is timely, as there is a growing interest by various players, as ESG disclosure frameworks are being enhanced around the world and locally, particularly, for listed companies at the Nairobi Securities Exchange. It is indeed a great moment for the country to have NSE drive the ESG initiative for the national economy, as well as the government’s commitment to climate change and sustainability.

RI’s CEO Andrey Bogdanov stated that RI is very pleased to partner with woman empowered business GEC, to drive the sustainability agenda in Kenya and beyond, using the continent’s first AI- pioneered international award-winning solution - ESG GPS.

NSE’s CEO Geoffrey Odundo wished to congratulate Risk Insights (RI) and GreenCo ESG Consultant’s (GEC) on their partnership, that is aimed at driving ESG and sustainability in Kenya. The NSE plays a strategic role in the shift towards a more comprehensive ESG disclosure. NSE CEO states, “As an Exchange, we enable economic growth and development, by facilitating the mobilization of financial resources and bringing together those who need capital to innovate and grow with those who have resources to invest. We can only achieve this with an environment that is secure, transparent and equitable.”
